A 77-year-old woman has been named as the victim of a fatal accident which occurred on the A862 Inverness-Beauly road on Saturday evening.

Mina Mackenzie, of Tomich Holdings, by Beauly, was driving her Microcar when it was involved in a collision with a Citroen C4. She died at the scene.

The road was closed for six hours to allow a full collision investigation, and police would like to hear from anyone who may have information in relation to the collision and who has not yet been interviewed.
