POLICE are appealing for information following a sneak-in theft from a property in Macduff.

The incident occurred between 1.40pm and 2.30pm on Monday, September 10 where an iPad, valued at a low three figure sum, was taken from an unlocked house in the Turner Street area of Macduff.

Investigating Officer PC Scott Murray said: "I am appealing for anyone who may have seen anything unusual in the area of Turner Street to get in touch.

"Also if you are offered a cheap iPad for sale please let us know.

"I would like to take this opportunity to remind the public to lock their homes when they are not at home and also to store valuable items out of sight.

"Sneak in thefts occur because the culprits see an opportunity to steal something and do so.

"If you lock your doors and windows and store valuables away there is less chance of becoming the victim of this type of crime."

Anyone with information on this incident can contact Police Scotland on 101 quoting reference 2585 of September 10.
