A STUCK puppy has been freed from its owner's wine rack by Inverness firefighters.

The young dog could not move after its head became entrenched in the bottle storage at a house on Suliven Way, Kinmylies, yesterday afternoon.

Firefighters managed to release the pup using boltcutters and fortunately, the unusual call out ended happily for the puppy who escaped injury.

A service spokesman said the pet was freed within a matter of minutes.
