The black Mitsubishi L200 - registration SY65 KXW - was taken from outside an address on Ladysmith Street in the village between 3pm and 4.10pm on Saturday, May 26.

It is believed that the vehicle may have been moved south and is thought to have been on the A9 south of Inverness later on Saturday.

Sergeant Kay Macrae said: "Incidents like this are very rare in Ullapool and the Wester Ross area.

"We are continuing our enquiries to try and locate this vehicle and I would ask anyone with information which could help us to get in touch as soon as possible.

"I would also remind people to make sure that they keep their vehicles securely locked when unattended and do not keep the keys where they can be easily stolen.

"Many thieves are opportunists and will take advantage of an easy target so do not offer one.

"I would urge anyone with information about the whereabouts of this pick-up truck to contact us as soon as possible."

Police can be contacted on 101, using reference NE3821/18. It's also possible to call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 and provide a tip-off anonymously
