National retailer reopens in Aviemore today with new look store
Aviemore Co-op re-launches today (Thursday) after its transformation.
A seven-week programme of works and improvements has been finalised at the popular store on Dalfaber Drive.
A spokesman told the Strathy that the new-look 2,750 sq ft store will now serve up an increased range of fresh, healthy and chilled produce alongside its focus on meal ideas and everyday essentials.
There will be food-to-go and meal deals, Fairtrade products, award winning wines, ready meals, pizzas, vegan and plant-based products: “All Co-op’s own branded meat is 100% British including in its pies, sandwiches and ready meals.”
Bakery ranges include products from Inverness-based bakery, Harry Gow.
A Costa Coffee Express machine has been added.
Parcel collection services are available over-the-counter via Amazon and, payment services are provided through PayPoint.
Customer car parking is available with electric vehicle charging coming soon.
Co-op Members enjoy a wide range of benefits including member-only price savings across everyday essentials, along with personalised offers via the Co-op Membership App.
The Young Scot card is also accepted and offers a 10% discount off groceries.
Laura Hardie, Co-op Aviemore store manager, said: “The whole team is delighted to have had the opportunity to invest in Aviemore – the store looks fantastic, it has been totally transformed.

It is always our aim to operate at the heart of local life and we have worked to ensure the quality, choice, added services and value to create a compelling offer with which to serve and support our community, conveniently.”
A soft plastic recycle unit is also available in store to enable the community to return ‘soft plastics’ including: crisp packets and bread bags, lids from ready meals and yogurt pots, biscuit wrappers and, pet food pouches - ensuring all Co-op’s own food packaging is recyclable through either local authority kerbside collections, or the in-store soft plastic recycling.
Self-service tills are now also available, enhancing ease, speed and convenience – particularly at busier times.
