Netflix thriller seeking Inverness extras after urgent casting call launched by The Casting Collective - which has been involved with Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice, Wicked, and Deadpool & Wolverine in the past
Intrigued Highland residents may have the chance to appear on screen after it emerged that a mystery "Netflix thriller" will be filming in the Inverness area this autumn.
The Casting Collective - a London-based casting agency that has been involved with franchises like Lord of the Rings and Star Wars, and prestige TV like The Crown and Outlander - has launched an appeal for potential extras to join the unknown project.
Promising "good rates of pay", it added that: "We are looking for people of all ages, genders and ethnicities for a Netflix thriller shooting in Inverness in October."
“All applicants must be aged 17+ and have a valid NI number and be legally allowed to work in the UK. The work is all paid.”
They added that they “need a large number of people rather urgently” for the project.
Netflix has been approached for comment.
Although it is unknown what the project filming might be, it is not the first Netflix drama to be seen shooting in the Highlands in 2024.
Back in June, Outlander star Jamie Dornan was spotted filming at Kylesku for his new Netflix crime drama The Undertow, where he plays identical twin brothers Lee and Adam.
The production was also seen filming on Mull.
Given that several months have passed since then, it is not known if the new Inverness filming is related to that project, or a separate Netflix production entirely.
The Casting Collective has been involved in hundreds of TV shows and Hollywood movies since it launched in 1999.
In recent years it has helped cast extras for blockbusters like Deadpool & Wolverine, The Batman, Wicked, and Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice, among others.
Prestige TV projects it has been involved with include Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, the new series of Star Wars show Andor, Outlander, The Crown and The Witcher, among others.
