‘ALL ABOARD for Deshar Nursery School’ has been working towards a £100,000 goal in order to ensure that every child that wants to can attend the nursery in Boat of Garten.

Even though the campaign was only launched in July it has already raised close to £17,000 of that target – and is set to add to the tally when The Greatest Showman is screened in the Boat of Garten Community Hall on Friday at 7.30pm.

And Heather from Cairngorm School of Dance is also running a free workshop to anyone with a ticket to the film – with that session starting at 6pm.

The screening comes just a few days after a successful pirate picnic in Boat of Garten’s playing field. Plenty of pirates turned up for a swashbuckling munch – there were even a couple of little mermaids and a set of twin fishpersons!

Ann Napier, the project’s chairwoman, said: "We have been constantly overwhelmed and humbled, but not surprised, by the support we have received, and by the spontaneous and hugely generous contributions that have already been made by so many people either individually or by involvement in the wide range of activities and events that have taken place over these weeks."
