Investigation launched at Kincraig into possibility of more dramas
A murder is announced in Badenoch. It’s going to take place on Saturday and could well prove the first of many.
Hopes are that the incident will spark the birth of a whole season of dramas, courtesy of a brand new amateur dramatics group.
Kincraig’s fun evening of mystery at the community hall will engage the audience in the investigation.
Cast member Susan Libeks set the scene for the Strathy: “Pastor Best and his wife Honor arrived in the village 18 months ago to take over the old disused church and he soon set up a church repair fund to renew the roof and replace the bells.
“Honor is not so much a born-again Christian as a born-again hippie, and has set up a large greenhouse where she grows exotic plants, including cannabis.
“Connie offered her hotel as a venue for bingo nights and coffee mornings to help with the repair fund, and she and Pastor George are now involved in a torrid affair…
“In an attempt to help Connie keep the hotel going, the Pastor came up with a plan, giving some of his wife’s cannabis to Connie, who puts it in her baking. Result? Her ‘fairy cakes’ are a huge success.
“However, in a small village like Kincraig nothing stays secret forever, especially when the local postman Phil is reading everyone’s mail. He soon starts to blackmail everyone - the Pastor about his affair with Connie; Honor for growing cannabis and Connie for using the cannabis in her cakes.”
The scene is set for some dramat, courtesy of local talent including Nicol Sinclair, Mark Lynch, Keith Taylor, Susan Libeks, Samantha Owens and author Jason Keating, who leads the investigation as Inspector Novak.”
“Everyone is invited to join us as the story unravels and to help inspector Novak solve the mystery.”
Tickets at £7.50 are available on line via Eventbrite or by cash at Kincraig Café & Suie Bar.
