Local MP Danny Alexander MP welcomed the news that the Cairngorms National Park Authority (CNPA) has appointed Grant Moir of Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park (LLTNPA), as its new Chief Executive Officer.

Mr Moir replaces Jane Hope who retired on Friday after 10 years at the park authority.

Commenting on the news Inverness, Nairn, Badenoch and Strathspey MP, Danny Alexander said: “I wish Grant Moir well in taking over and in continuing the great work Jane Hope has done in her time with the CNPA. His work at Loch Lomond is well respected and I am sure he will be an asset to our national Park.

"All of us who have worked with the CNPA are sad to see Jane retire. I worked closely with her both during my time at the park and since becoming a MP for the area.

“She deserves much of the credit for the authorities’ successes since its creation in 2003 and I join everyone in wishing her well for the future and an enjoyable retirement.”
