Motorists warned of lane closure on A9 in Perthshire

Road users on the A9 northbound are advised to take care on approach to the A9 dualling Luncarty to Pass of Birnam project later this month.

The northbound carriageway will be reduced to a single lane for 12 nights from Monday 18 October from Bankfoot South Junction.

The lane closure will be in place from 8.30pm to 6am each night to allow BT cabling works in the road verge to be undertaken safely as part of the finishing works for the dualling project.

A Transport Scotland spokesperson said: "The traffic management will commence on approach to the new Bankfoot South Junction on the first night for approximately 1.2kms and progress north each night until the BT cabling works are completed at the northern extent of the project.

"Road users are advised to allow additional time for your journey and take care on approach to the works area."

The planned traffic management is weather dependent is therefore subject to change, please refer to the Traffic Scotland website and Twitter @TrafficScotland for live traffic up-dates.
