Motorists are being advised that essential maintenance works will be carried out on the B970 which will result in the closure of Feshie Bridge.

Highland Council has said the temporary road closure on a short length of the B970 Kingussie – Speybridge Road will be required from next Monday (September 2) until Saturday September 21.

The length of road affected will be from the U2094 Achlean Road junction with the B970 road.

The closure will extend for 300 metres across Feshie Bridge to the private access road leading to Ord Cottage, Feshie Bridge.

Alternative routes for vehicles will be available using part of the B970 Kingussie – Speybridge Road, B9152 Kingussie to Granish Road, A86 Kingussie to Kerrow Road and the C1132 Kincraig to Loch Insh Road.

However, the latter road has a weight restriction on Kincraig Spey Bridge so it is only suitable for vehicles with a gross weight of less than 17 tonnes.

A Highland Council spokesman said: "Diversion routes for vehicles will be signposted and access for pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained throughout the works."
