It's Gilmour Gold for Kingussie at haggis awards
Badenoch butchers Donald Gilmour have struck gold with their special products for the summer of 2023.
The Kingussie butcher had success in the recent Craft Butcher Awards evaluation for speciality burgers and Make it With Haggis that were judged at Forth Valley College in Stirling last month. The evaluations were sponsored by Colin Hewitson Weighing and Food Processing Expertise and Scotweigh.
The success came with gold award for their Ruthven Stack in the Make it With Haggis awards, achieving a gold award for their innovative Haggis Product
They also tasted success with a silver for a Sweet Chilli Burger, an ideal product for cooking and eating out of doors so let’s hope for a great summer.
Donald Gilmour (pictured centre) was delighted to be presented with his awards at the recent Scottish Craft Butchers trade fair in Perth.
There were 164 entries in the Speciality Burger category and 145 entries in the Make it With Haggis.
