Missing Kingussie reporter's car is located
Police have just confirmed that Strathy reporter Clive Dennier’s car has been found parked in the Knoydart area west of Invergarry.
His silver VW Polo was located following extensive searches across the Highlands after he was reported missing on Monday just after 10.15am when he failed to turn up to work at the newspaper's Grantown office.
The car was found by police as part our coordinated search strategy.
A Northern Constabulary spokesman said: "Organised searches of the area have now commenced as a result of this development.
"At this time two mountain rescue teams, police search dogs are deployed to the search.
"Mr Dennier’s family have been updated. This remains a very anxious time for them and they ask that their privacy is respected."
Knoydart is sandwiched between Lochs Nevis and Hourn - often translated as Loch Heaven and Loch Hell respectively.
The area is also referred to as "Britain’s last wilderness". Only accessible by boat, or by a 16-mile walk through rough country, its seven miles of tarred road are not connected to the UK road system.
