Man killed in fall in the Cairngorms

A man has died in a fall in the Cairngorms earlier today (Friday).

Police received a call at around 12.43pm about the incident and RAF Rescue 137 helicopter assisted along with members of the Cairngorm Mountain Rescue Team.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said the man sadly died as a result of his injuries.

He stated: "Police are now carrying out inquiries into the incident and there is no further information at this time."

The man will not be identified until all next of kin have been informed and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
