Man injured in quad bike accident by Aviemore

Scotland's Charity Air Ambulance airlifted a man to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness after he was injured in a quad bike accident by Aviemore this afternoon.

It is believed that the incident occurred at around 3.30pm.

The air ambulance landed at Rothiemurchus by the triangle and departed the scene at around 4.45pm. A fire appliance and the Scottish Ambulance Service were also in attendance.

A spokeswoman for SCAA told the Strathy: "Scotland’s Charity Air Ambulance attended the scene at Rothiemurchus from our Aberdeen base and airlifted the injured man to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness."

The condition of the casualty and circumstances of the accident are unknown at this stage.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said : "Officers were called at 3.45pm yesterday following a crash involving a quad bike at Inverdruie.

"There was no requirement for police to attend."

The Strathy has contacted the ambulance service for more details.

Scotland’s Charity Air Ambulance responds, on average, to one time-critical emergency call out every single day.

The service is a national charity and receive no statutory government funding, so relies 100 per cent on donations from the public to fuel its emergency flights.
