Ian Sinclair caused a disturbance at A&E at Raigmore Hospital

A man refused to leave the Accident and Emergency Unit at Raigmore Hospital in Inverness after being treated for an injured finger.

Ian Sinclair, (46), was ordered to carry out 120 hours of unpaid work by Sheriff Gordon Fleetwood at the city's sheriff court.

Sinclair, of Huntly Place was taken by ambulance to the hospital at 3.40am and treated for his injury but when he was being discharged, he began shouting and swearing at staff.

He was moved to a waiting area where he sat down on a chair but he refused to leave and continued to shout and swear.

Security staff and police were called and Sinclair was found in the hospital grounds adjacent to the car park.

He admitted behaving in a threatening or abusive manner towards staff at the hospital on April 11.
