Police have said that a man has been reported to the Procurator Fiscal in connection with an armed robbery in Inverness.

A major investigation was launched after a five-figure sum was stolen from the Paddy Power betting shop in the city's Queensgate.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: "As part of a joint operation with Merseyside Police, a 31 year-old man has been reported to the Procurator Fiscal in connection with the robbery in Inverness city centre on Sunday 30 March."
