Lib Dem MP to host Indy debate in Newtonmore
Local Lib Dem Danny Alexander is to host a public debate on the Scottish independence referendum in Newtonmore tomorrow (Friday).
Alan Savage, Better Together supporter and Chairman of Inverness based Orion Group, will be guest speaker at the event.
The two are set to host the meeting for residents of Kingussie and Newtonmore at 5.30pm in Netwonmore Village Hall.
Mr Alexander said: “I’m delighted to host the second meeting of our Lib Dem Better Together tour of the Highlands in Newtonmore.
“In September, Scots will make the most important decision on the future of Scotland for a generation. I strongly believe in a modern, decentralised and democratic Scotland which is part of a strong UK family. I think that many Highlanders would agree with that.
“The meeting will be a chance for people to ask us about those views, but more importantly it will also be fantastic opportunity for us to hear what the people of Badenoch think about the future of our country.”
