Kingussie hit by water shortage after main is hit





It is estimated that hundreds of consumers in Kingussie are without water after disruption of a main at the northern end of the town earlier today.

Workmen needing to repair the pipe are having to wait for parts from Inverness.

A road is being created to service a new development.

Scottish Water are looking into the incident and more information on progress is due shortly.

One witness told the Strathy: "We hear the main was struck by accident and for a while there was water everywhere except where it was meant to be."

The High Street at its northern end was inundated initially although traffic has been maintained thus far.
