Badenoch has been making quite a name for itself at the Royal Highland Show 2025.

Kingussie’s Highland Horse Fun reports that its contribution is “going down very well again.”

The team is staging a combination of the “The Story of The Highland Horse, Highland Heritage, Humour and Song” to great effect, reports Ruaridh Ormiston.

The spectacular is a 45-minute performance twice daily at 1:30 and 5:10 pm in the Countryside Team part of the programme.

“We have an amazing team ourselves in Rusty Russell, Becca Cameron, Eve Nicol, James Slimon, Eilidh Macleod, Kirsten Corson and home-bred ponies Nola and Nellie of Croila Croft.”

One of the Badenoch ponies has claimed Reserve Champion Overall of the Highland pony ridden section.

“It’s a great show. We’re loving it and it’s loving us!”

Reserve champion ridden was Lachlan of Croila Croft, owned by Judith Hogg of Gairloch.

Champion female Highland pony and reserve champion overall in hand was Orla of Glentruim, bred by Carol Rafferty of Invertruim Farm, Glentruim by Newtonmore.

Mr Ormiston pointed out: “Orla‘s bloodline is that of the stallion Balmoral Lord, who can almost all be traced back to the Late Cameron Ormiston of the Croila Stud Newtonmore.”
