Two TV presenters from CBBC show "All Over the Place" will be showing off their shinty ball skills on the small screen next week after taking part in a lesson at The Dell in Kingussie.

Ed Petrie and Johnny Pitts braved the wet and cold Sunday morning last August to receive some coaching from then Kingussie Camanachd Club president Ali Brown and his helpers.

Mr Brown, assisted by six pupils from Kingussie Primary School and young shinty stars Ryan Borthwick, Thomas Borthwick and Hamish Anderson, gave the pair some top tips on the game.

Ed and Johnny were recording the piece for the second series of "All Over The Place", and the episode will be aired next Wednesday (March 28) at 5.45pm.

"They were very keen to learn about shinty and the history of our club, and we’re really looking forward to seeing the final product next week," said Mr Brown, now the club’s past president.

Despite the terrible weather, the two children’s TV presenters spent about five hours at The Dell, learning some of the skills of the fast-moving game.

A spokesperson for the show said: "The programme looks amazing, so thanks again to Kingussie Shinty Club for contributing to this series. The ‘All Over The Place’ team hope they enjoy watching it."

After the first transmission, a link to the episode will appear on the BBC’s webpage at http://www.bbc.co.uk/cbbc/shows/all-over-the-place giving people another chance to watch the episode, the 10th in the second series.
