After last week’s disruption in the centre of Kingussie Police Scotland have urged the public to call them out quicker.

As the "Strathy" reported last week, trees were broken in the memorial gardens, glasses were smashed, a car was scraped, another vehicle was bounced into the main road, plants were ripped out and residents talked of "the worst night in 21 years" for noise.

But a statement from Police Scotland this week explained: "At around 02:36 hours on Sunday July 5, Police Scotland received a report of a disturbance in the Kingussie area.

"Shortly after receiving the call, officers attended the scene where there was found to be no on-going incident.

"Subsequent patrols were also carried out to ensure that there were no further signs of a disturbance.

"Police Scotland do not tolerate incidents of anti-social behaviour and no-one should have to suffer incidents of this type unnecessarily. Police would therefore ask that where there are signs or sounds of anti-social behaviour, that members of the public should not hesitate to contact the police on 101."
