Magic mural brightens Newtonmore corner by day and by night
Badenoch residents have caught some youngsters painting on their wall…and they couldn’t be more delighted!
Mia Calder, Hanover Housing’s development manager, was singing the praises of Kingussie High School’s S3 art students this week.
“They have painted an absolutely beautiful mural for our housing development at Glen Grove, in Newtonmore” Mia told the Strathy.
“The mural has been put up outside the development - and it comes complete with downlighting and all.”
She explained: “Pupils presented ideas to the residents, who then chose a stag and mountains to represent spiritual authority and Scotland's strength as a country, with the mountains embodying the local surroundings of where we live.
“It all just goes to show how beautiful it can be to see such collaboration between the youth and the elderly of this community!”
The students could not have agreed more. They had a whale of time putting the mural together in a series of boards which came together perfectly.
