Eastgate Shopping Centre in Inverness to get new cafe from Kingussie business after Highland Hospice outlet closed
Preparation is under way for a new cafe to open at Eastgate Shopping Centre in Inverness.
Sugar In The City is based in the same unit which was used by the Highland Hospice’s In The City cafe until a few weeks ago.
A spokesperson for the new business said those involved were thrilled, adding: “Whether you’re looking for a cosy sit-in spot or a quick takeaway, we’ve got something for everyone.”
It promises to do breakfasts, savoury items like baked potatoes and pies, as well as sweeter products such as cakes, doughnuts and ice cream.
It is part of Kingussie-based coffee and gift shop The Sugarbowl, where a spokesperson said: “We just want to say a huge thank you to everyone who’s supported The Sugarbowl over the years.
“Every single one of you has helped us grow into something even more exciting - and now, we’re thrilled to introduce our brand new café - Sugar In The City.”
Signage for Sugar In The City has been erected for the new cafe and there is also new signage in place for fashion retailer Lovisa which is also expected to open in the near future.
It also comes while the food zone is being redeveloped into Scran Kitchen, after the previous venture closed in February.
Eastgate Shopping Centre management have been approached for comment.
