Emergency services were involved in a joint search yesterday afternoon for a missing person between Aviemore and Kincraig.

An air ambulance from the SAA was deployed along with a local fire service unit during the afternoon after the alarm went up.

A spokesperson from the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service confirmed: “There is one local appliance involved in the search. We have no further information yet.”

Villagers in the Rothiemurchus and Inshriach areas by the Spey watched as the air ambulance hovered over the area for part of the mid to late afternoon.

This morning a police spokesperson told the Strathy: “This was in connection with a missing person who was traced safe and well.”
