SNP candidate for Skye, Lochaber and Badenoch, Kate Forbes, is welcoming two high profile visitors to the constituency this week as they join her on the campaign trail.

John Swinney, Deputy First Minister and Cabinet Secretary for Finance, Employment and Sustainable Growth in the Scottish Government, will join Ms Forbes on the campaign trail in Dingwall and Aviemore tomorrow (Tuesday).

Mr Swinney will host a public question and answer meeting at Active Cafaidh in Aviemore over lunch for local businesses.

Mhairi Black, the UK’s youngest MP, will spend a day on the campaign trail with Ms Forbes, in Fort William, Portree and Dingwall on Friday.

Ms Forbes said: "I am excited to welcome John Swinney and Mhairi Black to the most beautiful constituency in Scotland. I’m grateful, too, that they’ve made time to support the SNP campaign as we approach the election.

"With just over a week until Scotland goes to the polls on 5 May, John’s visit to Dingwall and Aviemore will give local businesses the unique opportunity to ask Scotland’s Deputy First Minister questions on the SNP’s proposals to boost businesses in the Highlands.

"Mhairi Black is well loved across the constituency and the announcement of her visit has attracted a lot of attention. We expect a lot of people, particularly younger first time voters, to turn out in Fort William, Portree and Dingwall. It is a chance for them to be inspired by our vision for the Highlands.

"There is no question that the SNP is a party which is focused on investing in and listening to the Highlands. Over the campaign, we’ve had visits from the First Minister, Nicola Sturgeon, the Deputy First Minister, John Swinney, and one of Scotland’s best known MPs, Mhairi Black.

"Our vision for the Highlands and for Scotland is exciting and ambitious and I hope to meet as many people as possible over the last few days of the campaign and answer any lingering questions voters have."

The public can just turn up for the Aviemore Q&A session with those attending asked to be there for 11.45am for a 12 noon start.
