It's Strictly for dance fans in Grantown!
Strictly dance fans in Grantown will have to perform a quick foxtrot to make sure they do not miss out in the hottest tickets in town when they go on sale this weekend.
More than 150 people from throughout the strath dressed up to the nines for the first "Strictly Grantown", cheering on seven plucky couples on what turned out to be an unforgettable night for the town.
And now after a wait of nearly two years, the second in the series is to take to the floor. The brave contestants are Abbie Gray and Martin Ross; Sian Bruce and John Campbell; Carol Lawson and Danny Rose; Susan Ellis and Tom McKeand; Alison Robertson and Hayden Gray; and Heather Cogan and Darren McConnell.
Tickets for Strictly Grantown will go on sale this Sunday (September 28) from 12 noon at the town’s Craiglynne Hotel.
The main event itself has been extended and takes place from Friday November 7 to Sunday November 9.
One of the organisers, Louise Laing, said: "It will be first come, first served and seats will be allocated at the time of ticket purchase. We will require the names of people attending so we can secure their seat.
"This year there will be a raffle and an opportunity to have a professional photo taken with your accompanying party at each performance."
Ian (Barnie) Anderson and Kathy Grant triumphed with their street dance in a keenly contested competition in 2012.
They raised the biggest cash sum for charity by gaining the most votes of the evening, with each vote costing £1.
The judges’ choice winners were Steven Oakes and Pam Weaving with their ever popular ‘Saturday Night Fever’ dance.
The local charities that will benefit from this year’s event are the Grantown Festive Lights, Grantown Playgroup, Grantown Football Club, the town’s YMCA and Badenoch and Strathspey Community Transport Company.
