The race is on to be elected to the board of the Cairngorms National Park Authority (CNPA) with all the candidates having been announced and postal ballot papers dropping through letter boxes this week.

In a first for the CNPA elections – and The Highland Council, who manage the process – voters will be able to download the new Candidate App, allowing access to information on the candidates and each of their statements.

Voters will also be able to stay up to date with what’s happening.

The app can be downloaded via http://bit.ly/1FwGlL5

There are contests taking place in four out of the five wards in the national park, with Eleanor MacKintosh returning to represent Ward Four unopposed.

Full list of candidates available at The Highland Council website: www.highland.gov.uk/cnpa

The CNPA board is made up of seven members appointed by the five local authorities covering the park area, seven directly appointed by Scottish Government Ministers and five are directly elected by the eligible voters within the park.
