It’s all happening at RSPB Loch Garten!

A spectacular drama was fought out a few hours ago at the Abernethy nature reserve’s showpiece osprey nest and it was all caught on the charity’s superb CCTV system. ·

“Brodie 1, Intruder 0!” reported the team at the ever-popular tourist attraction, which is celebrating plenty of action at the eyrie.

“Check out this incredible moment from last night when Brodie fought off an unringed male osprey... by dropping a fish on him!

“Our new female then swoops in with lightning-fast reactions and saves her dinner from sliding off the nest!”

THAT'S MY DINNER! Meanwhile, the lady of the nest has to move fast to capture the fish before it slides out of the nest. She just catches it in time, as Brodie (top) sees off the intruder (left).

As the reserve’s visitor experience manager Clark Evans explained: “This intruder has been hanging around for the last couple of days, but Brodie's been doing his best to fend him off.

“They were last seen this morning having an almighty scrap on the nest!”

Will Brodie manage to defend, or will this other male win out and claim the nest? Only time will tell!
