NHS Scotland have lifted the visiting suspension that has been in place at Raigmore Hospital, Inverness.

But a spokesperson said there were still some restrictions in place.

"We are asking all members of the public to adhere to them:

•Visitors are limited to one per patient

•We would ask that no children under the age of 16 are brought in as visitors unless in exceptional circumstances and this must be in agreement with the nurse in charge

•Flu poses a higher risk to pregnant women so we would advise against them visiting

•Anyone with any flu-like or respiratory symptoms is asked to stay away from hospital until they are better

"For visitors who are coming in to see patients who have been confirmed with flu please be advised that you do this at your own risk and will likely be asked to wear a protective mask.

"Flu is very infectious and with many confirmed cases across our hospital sites and in the community these precautions have been put in place for everyone’s benefit.

"We appreciate and thank the public for their cooperation."
