Police Scotland are to host a Facebook chat on "legal highs" tomorrow (Tuesday) evening.

The force along with NHS Highland will be holding the virtual chat online between 6pm and 7.30pm.

Specialist representatives from health and the police will be on hand to answer any questions posted on the subject.

Detective Inspector Craig Thomson said: "There are many misconceptions about novel psychoactive substances by the unhelpful reference as "legal".

"I’ll be online tomorrow night to answer any questions the public have on the subject from a policing perspective."

Health Promotion Specialist for NHS Highland, Karen Carson, who will also be participating in the chat, said: "Having previously been involved in a Facebook chat on the same subject of Novel Psychoactive Substances I feel it’s a great opportunity to ask any questions you have on the subject.

"You may be a concerned parent, guardian or friend of someone who has used, or you suspect of using such substances and would like some advice on the health related matters associated their consumption. I’ll be more than happy to provide advice on any health related questions you have on the subject."

The chat event is being virtually held on the Police Scotland Highland and Islands Facebook page.
