Highlands' hospital sells itself . . . in a bid to find consultants
NHS Highland has produced a short film to help them plug gaps in the radiology department in Raigmore Hospital in Inverness.
The aim of the five minute promotional film is to encourage consultant radiologists to get in touch to find out more about three vacant posts which are about to be advertised.
The film features NHS Highland Chief Executive Elaine Mead, consultant radiologists and consultant surgeons talking about the region’s biggest hospital.
They highlight the excellent clinical facilities and team-working as some of the strengths of the radiology department at Raigmore Hospital.
NHS Highland Chief Executive Elaine Mead said: "We are currently looking to recruit new consultant colleagues to add to our excellent and highly motivated team of Radiologists.
"I’m delighted to provide my support and really hope interested parties will be in touch to hear about our vacancies."
Throughout the video, one of the main themes highlighted is the "unique" working atmosphere enjoyed within Raigmore Hospital.
All of the interviewees agree that moving to the North of Scotland was a fantastic choice for their families, where they enjoy the many outdoor activities on offer, excellent schooling and close-knit communities throughout the area.
"Having previously been a consultant in Glasgow, I moved to Raigmore six years ago," said Consultant Radiologist Dr Jason Walker. "The work life balance it has offered me and my family has been absolutely fantastic.
"For me personally, the draw of outdoor activities was a major part of the decision to move North and I would strongly recommend a move to the Highlands."
Last year NHS Highland launched their first recruitment film to look to promote roles and vacancies in the oncology team. It attracted over 2,500 views on YouTube and contributed raising the profile of the department and Raigmore across the UK and further afield.
