Highland Youth Parliament meets at Glenmore
The Highland Youth Parliament, the elected youth parliament of the Highlands, is currently holding its biannual conference at Glenmore Lodge near Aviemore.
The two-day conference, entitled ‘What a Wonderful Highland’, will include consultations with some High Life Highland board members on services for young people, and Highland Council’s education service regarding school PSE provision.
Other sessions will provide training for newly-elected HYP members and give an opportunity for them to film ‘Video Bites’, recording important issues for young people in the region.
Members who attend the conference, which ends tomorrow (Friday) will report back to their constituents in their schools, youth forums and youth groups to share what has been discussed.
Shaun Finlayson, the Highland Youth Convener said: "I am delighted at the range and number of organisations attending the conference which really shows how seriously the views of young people are being taken here in Highland.
"I’m looking forward to hearing their opinions and discussion on some very important topics."
