Highland woman offered sex to random strangers
Random males were asked by a drunken woman on a night out in Inverness if they wanted sex with her, a court has heard.
Shauna Cassidy, (20), was ordered to complete 100 hours of unpaid work after she admitted a breach of the peace in the city’s Church Street on September 27.
Depute fiscal Michelle Molley had previously told Inverness Sheriff Court that Cassidy had approached men and asked if they wanted to have sex with her.
She became involved in an altercation with another female and the police were called.
Cassidy, of Cairndhuna Terrace, Wick, had been out celebrating her birthday.
She admitted conducting herself in a disorderly manner, shouting and swearing, uttering sexual and offensive remarks, struggling with police officers and behaving in an aggressive manner.
Defence agent Diane McFarlane said her client’s memory of the incident was "distorted" because she was extremely drunk at the time.
"There was a sexual element and it was frightening that she was behaving in such a self-destructive way," she added.
Sheriff Margaret Neilson said comments made by Cassidy to social workers had highlighted a "high degree of immaturity".
She sentenced her to complete a period of unpaid work as an alternative to a prison sentence.
