Highland Short Term Lets update





Highland Council is telling short-term let hosts and operators that an online application form will be available by October 1.

The council is not yet accepting applications for short-term let licences. A further public announcement will be made once the online application form opens, a spokesperson confirmed this afternoon.

After October 1 new operators of short-term let accommodation must have a licence before taking any bookings or receiving guests. This also applies to existing operators who establish new short-term let accommodation,

Existing hosts or operators (operating before October) can continue to accept bookings and receive guests while their application is being determined and have until April 1 2023 to apply for a licence.

The online application process is not yet open.

"The application process is going through its final testing and will be open for applications shortly before October 1," the spokesperson confirmed.

Further notification will be published when the application process is open.
