Highland Business Awards 2024: Organisations urged to show their support and sponsor awards
The annual Highland Business Awards are an opportunity to celebrate the entrepreneurial spirit, innovation and resilience of organisations right across the region.
But the awards could not take place if it was not for the generous support of its sponsors who year after year demonstrate their confidence in local business by backing the event.
The 2024 Highland Business Awards ceremony and lunch will be held at the Kingsmills Hotel, Inverness on Friday, September 27. Nominations are open until 5pm, Friday, August 9.
Businesses are being invited to show their support for this year’s event by taking up the sponsorship opportunities available.
Paula Nicol, deputy chief executive and head of events at Inverness Chamber of Commerce, said: “The awards celebrate the strength and diversity of business in the Highlands and sponsoring a category is a fantastic way to demonstrate your organisation’s affinity with these principles and support the continued growth of the Highland economy. We have a number of categories available and would be delighted to hear from businesses who’d like to know more about the opportunities.”
And with the 2024 awards launched this week, she encouraged businesses to showcase their talents and successes by entering the awards.
“Entering an award can seem like a lot of work when everyone is busy, which is why we’ve made the process for the Highland Business Awards as simple and straightforward as possible, and taking some time to reflect on your business achievements can be a really positive exercise.
“Our past finalists and winners demonstrate that no matter the size and location of your business, everyone has the potential to be successful, so we really encourage businesses from across the Highlands to put themselves forward.”
Last year’s business of the year was RI Cruden, Inverness, which also received the environmental sustainability award.
The mechanical and renewable business was crowned at the ceremony at the Kingsmills Hotel, with the award judges telling RI Cruden the work they do for others is inspiring.
On receiving the award, company director Rory Cruden said: "It's certainly very unexpected, thank you very much everyone. It's a huge honour.
"It's great to be a part of this awards ceremony. I just want to give a really big shout out to our incredible team who have built up everything over the last few years.”
The awards will bring an end to Highland Business Week 2024.
Running from Monday, September 23 to Friday, September 27, it features a busy programme of events including networking opportunities and seminars along with the Highland Spotlight business exhibition at the Macdonald Drumossie Hotel on Tuesday, September 24. Businesses of all sizes and across all sectors will be exhibiting with around 300 people attending on the day.
