There will be no sports or leisure facilities run by High Life Highland open on Monday as a mark of respect to the Queen.

It means that the Aviemore Community Centre and its sports facilities, Craig MacLean Sports Centre in Grantown and the Badenoch Centre in Kingussie along with local libraries will be closed for the day.

HLH chairman Mark Tate said: “Following the announcement made by Buckingham Palace that the funeral of Her Majesty The Queen will take place on Monday 19, the board and management believe it would be appropriate to close all High Life Highland buildings to allow our staff the opportunity to pay their respects.”

All High Life Highland locations will resume normal opening hours on Tuesday (September 20).
