A much bigger and better package of High Life Highland benefits has been agreed which will include seeing discounted public swimming continue at the Macdonald Aviemore Resort

Resort bosses have just announced that the hotel company has agreed with Highland Council an enhanced deal for High Life Card holders.

In addition to on-going access to the pool and its facilities, cardholders will now be able to enjoy a range of other benefits.

These including discounts at Spey Valley Shopping, the Inflatable Fun Factory and children’s soft play area, and all the resort’s restaurants and cafes.

Also new to card holders, will be discounts on holidays at any Macdonald resort in the UK or Spain.

The current three year contract was extended until the end of May to allow the new conditions of the contract to be finalised between Highland Council and MAR.

The new agreement is for a three year term from Friday June 1, this year.

Mr Simon Jackson, Chief Executive of Macdonald Aviemore Resort commented: "MAR has enjoyed a six year relationship with Highland Council and we can now look forward to another period of working together to provide excellent health and leisure facilities to local families and individuals in Aviemore and its surrounding communities. "We would also look to extend further our commitment to support the local schools programme and activity groups.

"As a key employer, visitor attraction and community facility within Aviemore the MAR board welcomed the enthusiastic support it received from the local community, Highland Council and Aviemore Community Council in recent months, this combined with many cross party political letters of support reinforces the resort’s prominent position within the community."

A council spokesman said "Our new agreement with MAR is great news for not only the local Aviemore community but all High Life Highland cardholders and we are pleased the resort has also included a number of additional benefits and savings to cardholders."

In addition to partnering HLH to open the resort’s facilities to the community, MAR is also a supporter of many local projects including the planned sports centre project and the Olympic torch relay procession.
