High interest in community action plan at Strathspey village
Interest has been high in Dulnain Bridge regarding the latest Community Action Plan.
A public meeting last week attracted some 50 residents to the village hall.
The discussion, said by the community council to be "interesting and helpful", followed a leaflet campaign and subsequent survey of the villagers to ascertain the issues needing to be prioritised in the action plan.
For the local watchdog group, Colin Hill told the Strathy: "We were greatly encouraged that so many attended to discuss a wide variety of issues which were of concern to the village."
The matters were voted on at the meeting and several issues were chosen to become the foundation for the plan which will be discussed by the community council this week for inception in the New Year.
Mr Hill added: "We were particularly pleased that a new group, Friends of Dulnain Bridge, is to be formed and see this as a very positive sign that the community will now move forward.
"The community council are indebted and would express their thanks to VABS, CNPA and Councillor Jaci Douglas for their help and support during the project."
