There are exciting plans for the park in the centre of Grantown.

Residents of Grantown are being invited to help spruce up a playpark in the heart of the town later this month.

Dulaig Park Renovation Project (DPRP) has organised a tidy-up of the area on Friday August 27 from 4pm to 6pm.

Volunteers from the community will pick up litter, cut back overgrown bushes and weed the toddler play area.

Equipment will be provided, including gloves, litter-pickers, tools, bin bags and hand sanitiser.

Litter-pickers are being provided by the Highland Council and loppers will come from the Cairngorms National Park Authority.

DPRP chair Sheena Corcoran said: “We are delighted to hold this event and are looking forward to seeing members of the community coming together again.

"We hope that it will be an opportunity to catch up with friends as well as give the area some TLC.

“The park is well-used by all age groups and while efforts are ongoing to raise money for the renovation project, it is important to keep the area clean and tidy.”

"Anyone wishing to take part should meet at the bridge in the park.”

The Dulaig Park Renovation Project was set-up by local parents to replace dilapidated play equipment at the park.

Major funders so far include the Berry Burn Windfarm (£19,000), National Lottery’s Community Fund (£6,075), Scotland Loves Local (£5,000) and Highland Council’s Ward Discretionary Fund (£3,000).

The play park provider Kompan has been chosen to supply the new equipment.
