"Extensive effort" to find missing Highlander
Roadside checks are to be carried out in the Highlands as efforts continue to trace missing man Calum Mackenzie from Alness.
The 41-year-old was last seen at around 1.45pm on Thursday, 7 November in the Dalmore area of Alness, having visited the Morrisons supermarket on Dalmore Road shortly before 1.30pm.
He purchased food before leaving the store on foot.
Officers will be stopping drivers and speaking to people today (Thursday, November 14) a week from the last time he was seen in case they may have seen something which could help establish his subsequent movements.
Further searches will also be carried out in the area today, with support from the Police Scotland helicopter.
Inspector Alasdair Goskirk said: "We will be speaking to drivers and pedestrians around the Morrisons and Lidl supermarkets in case there is anyone who regularly uses the route around that time who may have noticed something relating to Calum's disappearance, even if they didn't think much of it at the time.We will also be distributing posters. As part of this work I would continue to ask anyone who was travelling in the area last week to review any dashcam footage that they may have taken.
"Extensive efforts have been ongoing to try and establish his movements, sadly so far without success.
"We are very grateful for the ongoing support from the local community who we know share our concerns for Calum's welfare.
"Given the recent cold weather I would also people to check sheds, outbuildings or anywhere someone may have sought shelter for any signs of Calum."
Calum is described as white, 6ft tall and of stocky build. He is bald and has a tattoo on his left forearm.
When last seen he was wearing a black jacket, blue buttoned shirt and black cargo trousers with black boots.
Officers do not believe he has access to a vehicle and if travelling will be on foot or by public transport.
