Have a nip and help projects in the Cairngorms National Park
A Grantown based whisky firm has launched a single cask Speyside single malt Scotch whisky with a donation from each sale going to help environmental and community projects in the Cairngorms National Park.
Grantown-on-Spey based Highfern Ltd is behind the new Angels’ Nectar Cairngorms Edition.
The company is partnering with the Cairngorms Trust on its 11 years old single cask malt bottled at 46% and at natural colour.
Robert Ransom, who established Angels’ Nectar in 2014, said: "For those who are missing the opportunity to get out and about in the Cairngorms this summer, what could be better than enjoying this taste of the Cairngorms at home.
"This edition has a sweet nose with hints of demerara sugar and gingerbread which opens on the taste to reveal dried tropical fruit and marzipan. Rich and delicate, it is a traditional Speyside dram." The malt is a limited edition of 263 bottles.
Mr Ransom said: "A donation from each bottle sold will go towards the Cairngorms Trust whose vision is to encourage sustainable and community led development, which enhances wildlife conservation, outdoor recreation and cultural heritage in the national park."
Recent projects the Cairngorms Trust have assisted include improving habitat to encourage breeding ospreys and mountain footpath restoration.
Nancy Chambers, Cairngorms Trust manager, said: "We are delighted the Angel’s Nectar have chosen to donate to projects within the Cairngorms through the sales of the Angel’s Nectar Cairngorms Edition."
Amongst others the Angels’ Nectar Cairngorms Edition is now available from the Balliefurth Farm Shop, the Speyside Centre and online at www.whiskycastle.com and Highfern’s own on-line store at www.highfern.co.uk at £68 per bottle.
