Police Scotland are investigating a reported theft of an air weapon from a property in the High Street area of Grantown.

The legally-held weapon was reported stolen yesterday (May 2).

Enquiries are ongoing to locate the air weapon.

Reporting officer Constable Kyle Ross said: "I would like to reassure the public that there has been no reports made to police about the illegal use of air weapons such as the one which has been reported missing.

"We are, however appealing for assistance from the public which could assist in locating this missing air weapon or if any person has been offered one for sale in the last 14 days without the proper certification.

"Anybody who believes they may have information is asked to call Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident 662 of May 2, or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
