Strathspey capital is celebrating historic railways and the course of the Spey this week

The Grantown Society is on the move this week - figuratively anyway.

A programme of events is already under way at the new community hub on Grantown High Street.

Visitors and locals are invited to do virtually travelling on the fascinating Longmorn model railway display (pictured above).

An accurate, absorbing and active layout of Grantown East railway station is on show morning and afternoon.

There is also a working track for anyone who fancies themselves as an engine driver and a wealth of other exhibits, information and displays.

The event is open all week from 10am to noon and 2pm to 4pm.

ON THE MOVE: The displays will be on show all week at the Hub.

On Friday evening in the Grant Arms the society is offering a virtual journey "poetic and pictorial" along the Spey from "Source to Sea".

Chairman Bill Sadly added: “Thirdly, we are journeying into the clouds (for data storage) with Grantown Computer Club in the Hub on Wednesday at 7pm. Everyone is welcome!”
