£10k hospital cash goes to Grantown's Inverallan 20/20 project

The former committee of the Friends of Ian Charles Community Hospital re-convened recently to present a cheque for £10,000 to Inverallan 20/20, a project to develop Inverallan church into a multi-use community venue.

The cheque was handed to Ann Ralston, treasurer of the project, by Celia Bloomfield, chair of the Friends, who believed the money, raised for the benefit of the former hospital, should now be used within the Grantown community.

With the opening of the new hospital in Aviemore, the Friends of Badenoch and Strathspey Community Hospital was set up to continue the good work of its predecessor. "We're now looking for further volunteers to join the group," said Celia Bloomfield.

"The function of the Friends is to disburse donated funds for the benefit of patients and staff at the new hospital and we would be delighted to hear from anyone, across the strath, who would consider joining us."
