Nethy Bridge's Hannah McCook has become the fifth and final event winner within the 2023 Rose Ladies Series, supported by Europe’s leading golf retailer, American Golf.

Golf ambassador at The Gleneagles Hotel and a member of Grantown Golf Club, the 29 year old took home a first prize of £10k at The Grove in Hertfordshire.

It was her first pro win but she had to work for it claiming victory after a three way play off against LET pro Georgina Blackman and PGA pro Amy Taylor.

She said afterwards: "It feels amazing to have achieved my first pro win, I feel on top of the world!

"I love golf because every day is different and provides the opportunity to improve each aspect of your game.

"The Rose Ladies Series is a really special tournament and means a lot to all who compete in it – I’ll remember this day forever as a real career highlight!”

McCook turned pro in 2019, just a short time before the Covid pandemic hit decimating the tour.

She took up golf at the age of six and enjoyed an exceptional junior career, including representing Scotland in the U16’s team when she was 15 years old.

The Rose Ladies Series was founded and funded by Justin Rose MBE, former world number one, and Major champion along with his wife Kate Rose in 2020.

It has been created with the intention of plugging the gaps that had been left from the cancelled Ladies European Tour tournaments.

The prize money contributed by the Roses was matched by American Golf and Computacenter UK as title sponsors.

Now in its fourth year, The Rose Ladies Series has become an exciting fixture on the women’s professional circuit, providing an excellent opportunity for female pros and high-ranking amateurs to compete, hone and showcase their talent as the Ladies European Tour ramps up.

Scott Taylor, Marketing Director, American Golf said: “We are delighted that Hannah has become the fifth and final 2023 Rose Ladies Series event winner.

"As the title sponsor for the fourth year running, American Golf is proud to back this inspirational tournament which aligns perfectly with our own values.

“Promoting and supporting gender inclusivity within golf by providing additional opportunities for female golfers to showcase their talent is vital to breaking down player barriers and increasing player participation.

"The American Golf team wishes Hannah all the very best for the rest of the season.”

The Rose Ladies Open will return to Brocket Hall in Hertfordshire later this year on September 7-9.
