"The object is to have a fun and exciting afternoon whilst raising as much as we can in funds to be paid directly to the Disaster Emergency Committee in order that it might reach those most in need," explained co-owner Elizabeth Boyd.

"The format will be a silent auction in the Pagoda Café Bar, a bottle stall in the foyer and a live auction in the Pagoda function room.

"We hope to have a small raffle going on too."

Tickets for the event are £6 and will include refreshments.

"If anyone is able to support us in any way, either by helping on the day or contributing to the auction or bottle stall, please contact us at the Pagoda on 01479 873877."
