The Cairngorms National Park Authority and the Cairngorms Business Partnership have been planning for the time when people can travel freely again in Scotland after the Covid-19 lockdown.

CBP chief executive Mark Tate said: “We want to do this in a way that gives confidence to communities, employees and visitors and continues to deliver the outstanding experiences that those of us who live in the park already enjoy.

“There are plans, for example, for the employment of seasonal rangers, management of car parks and creation of new signage.

“We want to give residents the opportunity to hear about the work we have been doing and, most importantly, we want to hear from residents about their hopes and fears for re-opening.

“We are delighted to be part of these open meetings where we can share some of our thinking and most importantly do a lot of listening.”

Up to 30 people will be able to join the conversation at the ‘Zoom’ meetings being hosted by Mr Tate, Grant Moir, Cairngorms National Park Authority cheif executive, and Janet Hunter, CNPA board member Cairngorms Tourism Partnership chairwoman.

The hour long sessions will take place on Friday – already fully booked – and Monday, both from 2pm.

Organisers will consider more sessions if there is demand. A special meeting is also being arranged with community council chairs.
