Gamekeeper overtook police car at 105mph on A9
A gamekeeper who overtook a police car on the A9 at Daviot was driving at 105mph Inverness Sheriff Court has heard.
Sean Mills from Aberfeldy overtook the police vehicle on March 2, 2015 approaching the Fort Augustus junction and he was pursued and stopped.
Depute fiscal Robert Weir said road conditions were wet and there was a lot of surface water.
Mills (26) of Tomchulan Court, Aberfeldy appeared from custody and admitted driving carelessly at 105mph.
His solicitor Clare Russell said Sharkey worked as a gamekeeper travelling to wherever the work took him and he needed his licence.
Sheriff Gordon Fleetwood said two warrants had been issued to get Mills to court and he fined him £450 and disqualified him from driving for six months.
He told Mills: "It never fails to amaze me that people who tell me they need their licence for their employment almost inevitably will lose it."
