The funeral of one of Badenoch’s giant characters, Clive Freshwater, is to be held next Thursday (March 5), the family have announced.

Clive, of Kincraig’s Loch Insh Watersports, which he founded in 1969, died on Saturday (February 21) at 76 in Raigmore Hospital, Inverness where he had been treated after falling ill some weeks before.

His widow, Sally, and sons Duncan, Andrew and Jonathon have confirmed that there will be a private cremation on Thursday, to be followed by a celebration of his life in Kingussie Parish Church at 12.30pm, to which all family and friends are being invited.

A reception will be held afterwards at Loch Insh Water Sports Centre.

Donations, if desired, can be made by mourners for the benefit of The Archie Foundation, at Raigmore.

Tributes and obituary out now in Strathspey and Badenoch Herald (February 26)
